The annual Lumley Castle ball is fast approaching and we hope you are as excited as we are – where else can you receive a five course meal in the comfort of an Elizabethan castle, with the baron’s finest servants at hand to ply you with mead, supply you with food and entertain you with song?

Once all the merriment is concluded, we will move down into the dungeon for a DJ, a disco and some more modern music.

Prices are £45 members, £50 non-members and tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment deadline 31st October 2012. Email us a.s.a.p. to let us know you would like to attend.

Dr Burt is particularly interested in the reign of Edward I but also specialises in political, social and economic history of the later middle ages, especially during the 13th century.There will also be a chance at the end to ask questions, so if you would like to find out more about this period then it is definitely worth attending!
